This article preserves the physiognomy vocabulary I used when it was first published. In my current practice I treat facial morphology not as a definitive verdict on personality or behaviour, but as a communication hypothesis that must be verified through behaviour, context and questions.

Entrepreneurship is thought to be a young person's game; but some of the boldest moves come from faces matured by experience. Nazım Salur, past fifty when he founded Getir, taught the world a new concept: groceries at your door within minutes. This idea, begun in 2015, turned into a global rapid-delivery frenzy stretching from Turkey to London to New York, and the company reached a valuation in the tens of billions for a time. Salur, who also founded BiTaksi, is among the rare founders unafraid to take risks at a mature age.

In my Östberg column we read the "relentless operator," and in my Neumann column the "locomotive with blown brakes"; rapid growth is both victory and trap. So how are this courage and stubbornness read in a face? In face reading, the answer is written across Salur's broad, resolute, bespectacled face.

1. The Broad, Near-Square Face: The Signature of Endurance and Will

Salur's broad, full, near-square face marks, in my physiognomy experience, a stable, honest, durable, strong-willed build; a square face shows diligence, discipline, and a sturdy constitution. Physiognomy says a broad jaw can bear more stress than stress. This is a face not easily toppled.

The evidence is dated: Getir's global expansion was an enormous load requiring the management of warehouses, couriers, and operations across dozens of cities at once. The square face's endurance is the source of not being crushed under this heavy operation.

Physiognomy says of a square face, "loyal, sturdy constitution, a person worth investing in." Salur kept the same solid stance both while expanding into markets like London and New York and raising enormous investment in 2021-2022, and during the sharp downsizing that followed; he had to retreat from some markets, but the company didn't collapse entirely. A square face can bend in the storm, but doesn't break easily.

2. The Bald Head and High Forehead: Experience's Intellectual Power

Salur's bald head and broad forehead mark, in physiognomy, intellectual power overtaking the physical and strategic thinking. This head carries not youth's impulsiveness, but the measure accumulated over years.

The proof is concrete: before Getir, Salur was a matured entrepreneur who had built businesses in various sectors. The Getir idea, too, was not a youngster's madness, but the observation of a mind that had watched the market for years. The high forehead's strategy is read in the foresight that "rapid delivery will become a sector."

3. Resolute Eyes Behind Glasses: A Gaze Locked on the Target

Salur's glasses and the resolute eyes beneath mark, in my physiognomy experience, a target-focused, analytical build. When these eyes lock onto an idea, they don't easily give up.

The evidence is dated: Getir played big bets during its global expansion; it held on in some markets and had to retreat from others. Salur kept his stubbornness through these ups and downs, but also knew how to correct course when needed. Physiognomy's description of a target-focused eye, "decides and executes", explains his fast moves.

4. The Beard-Framed Warm Smile: The Earth Beneath the Stubbornness

Salur's beard-framed warm smile marks, in physiognomy, Earth's trust-giving and connecting texture. Besides being a resolute founder, he's a face that builds a warm bond with his team and customers. Getir's "a bit of happiness" slogan is this Earth warmth reflected onto the brand.

5. The Defined Chin: A Will That Doesn't Step Back

Salur's defined chin marks, in my physiognomy experience, strong will and struggle. But physiognomy records the balance too: a strong chin can struggle in the moments it needs to step back. Getir's aggressive global growth and the subsequent downsizing period show both this stubbornness's strength and its trial. A stubborn chin knows how to advance; mature stubbornness also learns when to stop.

Conclusion: Wood's Stubbornness, Earth's Endurance

On Nazım Salur's face, Wood and Earth work together: in the defined chin, resolute eyes, and that global ambition, Wood's stubbornness and competitive power; in the broad, square face and warm smile, Earth's endurance and connecting texture. Recall Östberg's relentless operator; Salur carries the same operational endurance, but with a composure given by mature age.

Perhaps for the boldest moves, age is not an obstacle but an advantage, because experience gives direction to courage. That dream you call "too late now", is it actually possible precisely because you've matured?

The theme of speed, persistence, and the power to build a new habit in this reading of Nazım Salur can also shape the first moments of customer and team communication.
