This article preserves the physiognomy vocabulary I used when it was first published. In my current practice I treat facial morphology not as a definitive verdict on personality or behaviour, but as a communication hypothesis that must be verified through behaviour, context and questions.

An ecosystem's power is not always in its richest investor; sometimes it hides in the person who gathers a thousand different dreams under one roof. In Paris, at the head of the world's largest startup campus, Station F, is such a name: Roxanne Varza. A "connector" who houses more than a thousand startups in a single building, fusing different cultures, languages, and ambitions in the same corridor. Of Iranian heritage, raised in Silicon Valley, settled in France; a career from Microsoft's startup programs to editing TechCrunch France, and from there to directing Station F in 2016.

In my Garry Tan column we read the ecosystem's smiling "web-weaver"; Varza is its European and even more inclusive version. So how does one person hold so many different ambitions in a single community? In face reading, the answer is written across Varza's oval, warm-eyed face.

1. The Oval Face: The Signature of Diplomacy and Empathy

Varza's oval face marks, in physiognomy, the selfless, diplomatic, charming build with high social skill, a character who understands people's needs, with strong empathy. In İşbecer's oval lines we read the "diplomat of the corporate labyrinth"; Varza's oval face is a campus's diplomat.

The proof is concrete: Station F requires managing hundreds of different programs, investors, and startups under one roof; a place where egos, cultures, and interests collide. Without the oval face's empathy and diplomacy, this labyrinth turns to chaos. Varza turned holding different ambitions together, without clashing them, into an art.

2. Warm, Expressive Eyes: A Gaze That Keeps the Door Open

Varza's large, expressive, warm eyes mark, in my physiognomy experience, the emotional, sensitive build that is open to communication; the curved eye area marks forming emotional bonds and delight in supporting others. These eyes don't scan a founder; they invite.

The evidence is dated: before Station F, Varza built inclusive communities like "Failcon" and "Girls in Tech Paris"; she was always after bringing the outsider in. This gaze is the polar opposite of Thiel's skeptical eyes: it assesses by embracing, not by scanning.

3. Defined Cheekbones: Soft But Real Authority

Varza's defined cheekbones mark, in physiognomy, sociability and authority. But this authority is built on trust, not command. Running the world's largest startup campus requires being both warm and heeded; when the cheekbone's authority is balanced by the oval face's softness, a rare leadership emerges: one that gathers volunteers rather than commanding obedience.

The evidence is institutional: Station F, founded by Xavier Niel, has been a symbol of European entrepreneurship since it opened; Varza is that symbol's daily face and voice. She has served on bodies like the European Innovation Council with the same inclusive authority.

4. Long, Dark Hair and Soft Features: The Water Element's Flexibility

Varza's overall soft features summon, in my physiognomy experience, the Water element's flexibility and adaptability: a mind that takes different shapes, that can flow between different cultures. Her Iranian-American heritage, her career in France, the bridge she built across three cultures, this is the very water face that fits no single mold and adapts to every environment. Recall Hinrikus's borderless water; Varza's water flows between cultures.

5. Balanced, Harmonious Features: A Bridge-Building Identity

Varza's balanced, harmonious features mark, in physiognomy, empathy, adaptability, and the skill of reading people's needs. A face raised among three cultures has a natural advantage in connecting different worlds.

The proof is concrete: Station F hosts founders from all over the world; Varza framed this diversity not as a weakness but as a strength. She opened dedicated programs for women founders and underrepresented groups, widening entrepreneurship's door. She carried the same bridge-building identity on bodies like the European Innovation Council. Water and Earth watered Graham's garden; Varza's harmonious features, too, bring different soils together under the same climate.

Conclusion: Water's Flexibility, Earth's Inclusion

On Roxanne Varza's face, Water and Earth work together: in the oval, soft features and warm eyes, Water's flexibility, diplomacy, and adaptability; in the cheekbones and the passion for community-building, Earth's connecting, embracing texture. We read Graham's garden and Tan's network; Varza represents a third model: growing thousands of different saplings in the same greenhouse.

Perhaps what grows an ecosystem is not the sharpest competition, but the most inclusive roof. Whom does your community leave outside, and how many of tomorrow's giants are among those left out?

The theme of inclusion, diplomacy, and ecosystem building in this reading of Roxanne Varza reaches beyond one founder; it also raises the question of who carries which role in a team and how different characters complete one another.
